About us
Our story actually began in 2007, when we bought the house around which the orchard stretches today. In the yard we were greeted by a venerable bitter cherry tree, about 60 years old, which would change our path completely. The turning point was an unusual request from a neighbour, a local jam maker, who wanted every single cherry from that tree. That revelation gave us the courage to plant a whole orchard.
We started out with our first 100 saplings and plenty of uncertainty. We had no experience in fruit growing and didn’t know whether there would be real interest in our harvest. But we were determined. We went back “to school” to learn the secrets of agriculture, discovered with joy how sought-after bitter cherries are across the country and, step by step, through a lot of hard work, that first act of courage grew into the generous plantation of today.
